This time for their series of collaborations Eastpak got «Inspired by the world of» handmade Japanese boro and used it to create what are now undoubtedly the 5 most exclusive Padded Pak’r® backpacks ever produced. Our work was to design premium product packaging and sophisticated hangtags as well as a free standing display to showcase the five exclusive pieces in selected locations around the globe.

SHINTO SHOWCASE:
Boro is the fabric of the Japanese folk, while Shintoism is their religion. For this display proposal we got inspired by Shinto Shrines and their special archway called Torij. The Torij is believed to separate the sacred world inside from the world outside. Both of these elements can also be found in the Boro textile. The refined finishing and Japanese joiners make the showcase elegant and subtle.
KEYWORDS > Altar, luxury, mystical, detailed, refined and delicate, sophisticated, contemporary.

BENTO CASE:
The product packaging design was created with the values of cleanliness, crispness, subtlety, minimalism and relaxed luxury. Unifying Contemporary and Traditional Japanese design with Zen influences, the design choices are combining plain colors with clean shapes. The packaging serves as an armor to protect and honor the product, while the backpack is the true hero.
